A few tips (in no particular order other than my neurological sequencing!):
- Some days will be harder than others. That's ok.
- Don't cheat. You're only doing this for yourself.
- Its about so much more than your waistline.
- Be prepared for (but not daunted by) questions - from colleagues, family etc.
- Get a routine. Stick to it.
- Find what works for you - e.g. how you split/save your calories.
- Buy digital kitchen scales.
- Get a good (simple, accessible, accurate) calorie counter - e.g. phone app.
- Be aware of, and respect your body - e.g. if you are ill etc, you may want to skip a fast.
- Use fresh ingredients - the best you can afford. [if you're only eating 500 calories - make them count!]
- Prepare in advance (don't go food shopping on fast days!).
- Drink lots of water.
- Keep busy.
- Keep a note of meals/recipes you enjoy.
- Make the most of herbs and spices.
- Adapt recipes you already love.
- Try new stuff. Get creative.
And..
- Enjoy the challenge!
