Tips

A few tips (in no particular order other than my neurological sequencing!):
  • Some days will be harder than others.  That's ok.
  • Don't cheat.  You're only doing this for yourself.
  • Its about so much more than your waistline.
  • Be prepared for (but not daunted by) questions - from colleagues, family etc.
  • Get a routine.  Stick to it.
  • Find what works for you - e.g. how you split/save your calories.
  • Buy digital kitchen scales.
  • Get a good (simple, accessible, accurate) calorie counter - e.g. phone app.
  • Be aware of, and respect your body - e.g. if you are ill etc, you may want to skip a fast. 
  • Use fresh ingredients - the best you can afford. [if you're only eating 500 calories - make them count!]
  • Prepare in advance (don't go food shopping on fast days!).
  • Drink lots of water.
  • Keep busy.
  • Keep a note of meals/recipes you enjoy.
  • Make the most of herbs and spices.
  • Adapt recipes you already love.
  • Try new stuff.  Get creative.
And..
  • Enjoy the challenge!
